Her curiosity and love for adventure sometimes puts her in trouble, however, Ariel overcomes whatever challenge she faces. Her best friends are a fish called Flounder, and a crab called Sebastian.
With bright red hair, and an emerald-green tail, Ariel is unhappy with her underwater life, but is fascinated by the human world. Ignoring the advice of her father, King Triton, she goes to the surface of the ocean where she falls in love with Prince Eric the moment that she sees him. When saves him from a shipwreck, he gets charmed by her voice and promises to find the girl that he heard singing and that saved his life even though he didn't meet Ariel yet. Seeking for a way of joining Eric in his world, Ariel searches for Ursula, the Sea Witch, that wishes to use the princess to obtain Triton's magic trident. In exchange for her voice, Ariel is transformed by Ursula into a human for three days. The mermaid must receive the true love kiss from Eric to remain a human, or she'll become a mermaid once more, and then she'll belong to the witch
